I spent most of last weekend emptying the storage space in the attic to install some new insulation. Daniel wanted to see what all the fuss was about and why I was missing for most of the weekend. A very productive weekend all the same, we ended up filling Ciara’s car to the roof for a trip to the dump and recycling centre and my attic looks like the inside of a space capsule.

Daniel spent most of his time pulling out everything I had put away.

and his new favourite game is peek-a-boo

We had a lovely time over the festive season, too much food and drink and plenty of new toys. Dan-Dan spent most of the morning playing with empty boxes and wrapping paper and I spent nearly the same amount of time looking for batteries, which of course nearly all the toys needed.

Christmas dinner with inlaws..

Trying out his sisters stocking filler..

We had a lovely dinner and drinks at our friends house on new years eve with a sleep over for the very excited kids.

This is what happens when Dan-Dan stays up after midnight..

Finally, Happy new year to everyone!

Monkey see…#47-52

We took the gang to the zoo on Christmas Eve to see Santa and also wish all the Zoo residents a Happy Christmas.
Daniel gets a great laugh out of watching the monkeys and apes which still managed to brave the cold weather. Most of the other animals were indoors or curled up.

I’ve no doubt that left to his own devices he would try his best to climb in with them.

Distraction #46-52

Daniel has become a big fan of Fireman Sam episodes on Youtube.
He gives out now if anything else is put on and has no problems letting us know when he wants to watch it, he stands and points at the computer until one of us puts it on for him.

Handy that he has something to keep him distracted long enough for when we need to get things done around the house.

Miserable #45-52

Daniel has had a week of misery this week, his sister picked up a dose of hand, foot and mouth in playschool which Daniel also got.
This results in little water blisters on the hands, soles of the feet and in the mouth, these then burst and end up looking a little bit like chicken-pox.
The result was complete an utter misery for the little man.

It’s very sad when they can’t tell you what’s wrong with them or what hurts and with this kind of thing there is very little you can give them for it.

The good news is, he is on the mend and will no doubt be back to his usual cheerful self in no time.

What with winter well and truly on it’s way it’s time to break out the wooly hat.

Winter Son #43-52

For a few fleeting moments I had Daniel all to myself today.
I spent a while following him around the house with camera. I was really struggling to find some good natural light.

We eventually got to the patio doors and there it was, the largest and most natural soft-box I could wish for, he gave me a look as if to say he wanted to go outside and enjoy the Winter sunshine.

The Zoo #42-52

We finally got around to renewing our family membership at Dublin Zoo.
It remains one of the best days out in Dublin and is one of those places you never tire of.

It’s a great day out for the kids.

Halloween #41-52

Daniel is still a bit too small to trick or treat with his sisters. Still, it didn’t stop him dressing up for the occasion though.

I think we prepared just over 50 bags of assorted sweets for the neighbourhood kids and within an hour they were gone. Every time the door bell went Daniel got all excited and came running up to me so I could pick him up and answer the door. His sisters were only out for a short while and brought home enough sweets to see them well into the new year.

Shot taken at a family Christening. Ciara decided it would be best for Daniel to miss the second half of the ceremony, this was due to his constant urges to shout at the priest any time he spoke.
It’s one of those things kids do, they just have to shout in church, it’s kind of a tradition, the echoes help! :-)
Loving the outfit he had on which was sent from France by my parents.
